JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible to plan, design, calculate, coordinate, inspect, and direct civil engineering projects, to perform engineering assignments, and solve civil engineering challenges under the supervision of a licensed engineer.

The Project Engineer is responsible to develop professional working knowledge, experience, judgment and education under supervision of the Project Manager towards earning their Professional Engineer license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
0-4 years’ experience Civil Engineering or equivalent
Proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficient with Microsoft Office
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation required or must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare civil design calculations for items such as drainage, grading and ADA compliance, utilities, storm water management systems, hydrology/hydraulic studies, earthwork volumes, roadways, and paving. Estimate and calculate quantities from construction drawings.
  • Draft, review and finalize site plans, construction drawings, and documents for infrastructure and/or land development projects, including plan drawings, specifications, bid documents and quantity and cost estimates.
  • Ability to analyze survey data and existing site conditions.
  • Complete edits and modify plans as required by agencies, municipalities and clients.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the profitable design and completion of assigned projects and contracts; leading a team of professionals with responsibility for completing designs within budgets, schedules, and deliverable quality.

4 – 15 years experience in Civil Engineering
Proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

None, although compensation is based on licensure and proficiency

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimate and calculate quantities from construction drawings both by hand and from digital media.
  • Draft, review and finalize site plans, construction plans, and documents for infrastructure and/or land development projects including plan drawings, specifications, bid documents and quantity and cost estimates.
  • Ability to analyze survey data and existing site conditions.
  • Complete edits and modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients.
  • Direct and supervise Engineers, Design Technicians, CAD Operators, Surveyors.
  • Understand the client’s design criteria, processes and preferences. Understand the local codes, ordinances and permitting processes and how to guide a project through the applicable regulatory agencies for approval.
